At first glance, the terms Hatha, Vinyasa, or Kundalini will not mean anything to the reader. These are different types of yoga, each of which has its own characteristics. If you want to start with yoga, you should find out which yoga style suits you in advance.
What exactly is yoga?
Yoga is a centuries-old tradition that is constantly being developed. Yoga, as we know it today, is used in a wide variety of ways. You use it
- to reduce stress,
- for body definition,
- to clear your mind.
All you need to do this is a yoga mat and comfortable clothing. You can already do your first yoga class. So you can already perform the sun salutation in the morning and start the day strengthened.
To date, there are about 130 different forms of yoga. Yoga primarily consists of posture (asanas), breathing (pranayama), and meditation techniques. The asanas are set out in the asana. The goal of yoga is to bring the body and mind into harmony while being able to relax completely.
At the end of the yoga class, one should relax completely in the resting posture (Shavasana). Some yoga styles rely on long holding and intensive breathing exercises, while other yoga forms focus on the dynamic processes that are supposed to challenge the muscles.

Relaxed yoga classes
If you choose a yoga style to relax, you should look at these yoga styles.
The hatha yoga
This type of yoga is ideal for beginners and people who are less fit. Meditation and breathing exercises are very important in this style of yoga. Such a yoga class is good for the heart, the circulation and serves to reduce stress. This type of yoga also includes Iyengar yoga. By the way, Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all types of yoga and comes from the Hathapradipika , a yoga script that has its roots in the 14th century. A distinction was made between the spiritual practices (Raja-Yoga) and the physical practice (Hatha-Yoga).
Kundalini yoga
The yoga teacher pays attention to meditative breathing techniques and spiritual forms. As part of the training, you sing the various mantras, because they are supposed to bring the mind into harmony.
The Luna Yoga
This type of yoga is specifically intended for women, because the exercises are specifically geared towards the female body. During the exercises, the pelvic floor muscles are to be strengthened so that the hormones are regulated, and the female cycle is positively stimulated. In addition, in this form of yoga, special reflex zones are stimulated so that the sexual organs experience a kind of deep relaxation.
The Anusara Yoga
This form of yoga is ideal for everyone who has to spend the whole day at their desk, because the precise exercises can compensate for poor posture caused by a lack of exercise. The individual anatomy of the yogi is always in the foreground.
The intuitive yoga
This type of yoga has a very relaxing effect on the body and mind because, through the calm and gentle exercises, you learn to let go, take your time and switch off completely.
More yoga styles
In addition to the ones already mentioned, there are other yoga styles:
The Vinyasa Yoga:
In this yoga direction, the asanas should flow and be performed in connection with the technique of breathing. You come into the flow that harmonizes the body. However, you shouldn’t be overwhelmed by the rapid alternation of dynamic movements and stretching, instead, it was the harmony. There are different levels of difficulty.
The acro yoga:
Acro-Yoga provides the greatest fun factor, because the various exercises in the sequence are usually performed together with a partner. Trust is the most important thing, because you have to be able to rely on your partner at all times.
The hormone yoga:
This type of yoga is also geared towards the female body and should have a harmonizing effect. It is ideal for women going through menopause, women with hormone fluctuations, or women who want to have children. If you suffer from endometriosis, osteoporosis, inner ear infections, abdominal pain, heart problems, an overactive thyroid, problems with the spine, any other complaints, or a herniated disc, then you should definitely try this type of yoga.
The yin yoga:
This form is about breathing deeply and calming down. Certain breathing techniques train the deep layers of connective tissue and the fasciae.
